EBM Technologies USA LLC (“EBM”) provides imaging technology used by healthcare organizations. EBM is committed to protecting the privacy and security of protected health information (“PHI”) that we may handle on behalf of our customers, consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) and related regulations.

Our Role

When EBM processes PHI in connection with our products and services, we generally act as a business associate to the covered entities and partners we serve. In that role, we handle PHI only as permitted by our agreements and by applicable law, and only to provide the services our customers have engaged us to deliver.

Safeguards

EBM maintains administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of PHI. These practices include access controls, encryption where appropriate, audit logging, workforce training, and edge and backup architecture designed for resilience.

Business Associate Agreements

Where required, EBM enters into Business Associate Agreements (“BAAs”) with covered entities and partners that define how PHI may be used, disclosed, and protected. Customers who require a BAA can request one using the contact details below.

Breach Notification

In the event of a breach of unsecured PHI, EBM will notify the affected covered entity or partner consistent with our agreements and applicable law, so that required notifications can be made within the timeframes the law requires.

Scope of This Notice

This notice describes EBM’s general approach to HIPAA and is provided for informational purposes. It is not a Notice of Privacy Practices issued by a healthcare provider, and it does not create any contractual obligation. The terms that govern any specific engagement are set out in the applicable customer or partner agreement.
